Chester Dancers

The Chester Dancers is a tuition free dance program which began in 2000 as a summer activity for a handful of children. Since then, it has grown in size and classes are held throughout the year.

Classes are held in Stevens Hall in the center of Chester, NH.  The Hall is graciously provided by the Town for the use of the children.

Shoes and leotards belong to the organization and are loaned to the children for their use.  It is important that all children be dressed similarly so that attention is focused on learning, not clothing.

The underlying premise of the organization is that no child should be denied access to classical training on the basis of income.

Performances are held in the spring and winter, with costumes provided by the program and no charge for participation in or attendance at the shows. We exist on donations from parents and interested parties and occasional fund raisers.

Classes are taught by Margaret Voss, former professional dancer, with many years experience in training children for the performing arts.
